NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)
NLP provides a model of how human beings function and a framework for better understanding ourselves and other people, individuals and groups. It enables people to develop precise communication skills and offers a system of empowering beliefs and presuppositions about human behaviour and the process of change. The name is descriptive:
Neuro refers to our neuro-physiology—the functioning of the nervous system within its physiological structure
Linguistic refers to our use of language to communicate—in every form in which people communicate with each other
Programming (from the field of cybernetics) refers to the patterns evident in thought, sensation and behaviour—people’s own programmes. NLP offers ways to establish rapport quickly and easily, to appreciate how someone is processing information and to identify their thought patterns, NLP has always been used to help people to change and when combined with TFT each methodology strengthens and supports the other. When used together people tend to remember TFT —after all, being asked to tap on energy points is highly memorable — and often don't notice the use of NLP to empower the process of change.
